Former young MP for Bury joins advisory committee

Emma Greenwood is the latest member to Zellar’s youth advisory committee to reflect voice of youth

Zellar, the sustainability platform is excited to announce the appointment of former young Member of Parliament for Bury and a dedicated climate advocate, Emma Greenwood, to its advisory committee.

Zellar has appointed Emma to help ensure Zellar is continually reflecting and responding to the views of younger generations.

During her time as the Young Member of Parliament for Bury from 2019 to 2021, Emma co-founded the Manchester branch of the Youth Strike 4 Climate Movement.

Driven by her passion for sustainability and cross-generational co-operation, Emma has experience at both local and international levels. She has held positions at Youth Focus Northwest and the Co-op Foundation.

A seasoned public speaker, Emma has advocated for youth voices at the Eden Project, Women's Environmental Network, and the Environment Agency. She has consistently demonstrated her dedication to fostering dialogue and creating change.

Commenting on her appointment, Emma states, “I love how Zellar is committed to bringing transparency to sustainability. More and more people, especially young people want to understand what businesses are doing - but are wary of being greenwashed. Zellar's sustainability score gives consumers the information they need to make decisions over who they work for and buy from. I’m excited to help Zellar stay true to its commitment to developing a product that recognises and reflects the voice of the youth.’’

CEO and founder, Gary Styles, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "We extend a warm welcome to Emma. For me it made total sense to have an experienced young and passionate voice on our advisory committee. Emma’s committed to influencing community-wide change and we look forward to the impact she will make on Zellar.”

Beyond her involvement with Zellar, Emma Greenwood has extended her community-driven focus as an ambassador for 'One Young World,' an organisation uniting and empowering young leaders globally. As well as holding positions such as a community builder at 'Curv Co,' the socially driven global network, and a mentorship role in the pilot 'Catalyst' programme at Winchester College.
